Gold has an extraordinary heritage with unique qualities. It is an enduring element found naturally in a distinct yellow color. Gold is resistant to rust, tarnish, and corrosion making it a great option for jewelry. Although gold is very strong, it’s also the most malleable of all precious metals.
Tantalum has recently made its way into the jewelry industry and is quickly growing in popularity. Tantalum is a naturally blue-grey metal that is highly scratch resistant and hypoallergenic. It is one of the most heavy metals used in jewelry making which creates a luxurious feel. All of the Tantalum we use is 99% pure and is processed in conflict-free mines and production facilities. We are able to produce a darkened version of Tantalum through an organic process of heating and cooling techniques. Darkened Tantalum is still pure and no chemicals or coatings are used to achieve the naturally darkened Tantalum look.
*Due to manufacturing processes used when creating Tantalum items, very slight color variations may occur.
Damascus steel has its own somewhat mythical origin story. It can be traced back to India to around 500 AD. These steels have an attractive surface pattern composed of swirling patterns of light-etched regions on a nearly black background. The pattern-welded steels are produced by welding alternating sheets of high and low-carbon steels. This composite is then folded and welded together. This process is repeated until a large number of layers are obtained, resulting in the unique pattern. Damascus steel is crack resistant and waterproof, however, you should avoid wearing this metal in pools or in anything containing harsh chemicals like chlorine or bleach.
